"With Red Bull Flying Illusion, we claimed virgin soil and realized our huge dream. We have been longing for this day after more than three years or preparations. The world premiere was pure joy for the whole team", said Vartan Bassil, the Flying Steps co-founder and artistic director.
A headspin, effortlessly lifting off the stage floor, two dancers that seem to fly weightlessly, a one on one battle with the own shadow and unbelievable power moves – is it a dancing skill, or did an illusion play tricks with your mind? A question that kept the crowd, including friends of Red Bull like musician Henning Wehland, boxer Arthur Abraham or actor Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht and TV host Patrice Bouédibéla wondering in excitement.
Over 70 minutes, Red Bull Flying Illusion was praised by the crowd with applause during the show and minutes of standing ovations afterwards. "I am extremely grateful, that the fan's reactions were so positive. We proof once again, that breakdance is an art form". The Flying Steps will perform Red Bull Flying Illusion three more times in Berlin until Monday and afterwards tour German arenas in Frankfurt, Oberhausen, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Cologne, Leipzig und Munich until December performing 25 shows.
